Giant Sulawesi Snails Anyone?

Well, I was on Aquatic Arts, browsing what they had in stock, and I saw the giant SulawesI rabbit snail. I’m setting up a 45 gallon community tank right now, and I kinda feel like I need some. I’ve checked out their care requirements and they fit my tanks parameters. I’m just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with them and could give me any input on what they think.

I have 2 rabbit snails. I don't think they are giants though, they've maxed out with a shell about 2 inches long. They are very cute and I love their wrinkly nose.

They need to be fed. I feed mine a variety of vegetables. Their favourite is broccoli. They eat more than you expect and don't leave the vegetables until it's all gone. After eating they seem to go into a food coma. They wriggle away, bury themselves and go to sleep.

They need to be kept on sand so they can bury themselves. I've found they don't like strong lighting. They are more active when the blue light is on and at night. When the lights are on they tend to stay in the shady areas of the tank. Mine rarely climb uo the sides of the tank or onto decor. They mostly stay on the substrate.

I don't know if you can say snails are sociable but mine are usually in the same area of the tank often quite close.

They need warmer water than most fish. I wouldn't keep them lower than 79f though they can be kept much warmer. Mine are at 80f which is probably on the cool side for them.

Sweet, thanks for the reply! I’ve been kinda itching to order some for my 45 community, but was holding back incase there was some sort of drawback not advertised on aquatic arts. But now I think I’m gonna go through with the idea, since I’ve researched them quite a bit. I just wanted a personal opinion on them before I went through with the order. Oh! Also, do you think they would get along with mystery snails?

Definitely! They are completely peaceful. I keep mine with nerite snails, bladder snails, amano shrimp and red cherry shrimp. They'll be fine with mysteries.
Awesome! I’m really excited, they’re just such cool looking snails!
