Tuesday

I have a baby giant gourami in my tetra tank. No tetras are missing, everybody is accounted for so WHY is she so fat?
Also looking for name suggestions

How much do you normally feed it?
I can’t really tell how fat it is from the angle.
These gourami get massive, up to 18 inches.

You can see her bulgy little belly, kinda. I feed her flakes, like the reset of the tetras. It looks like she eats a normal amount, she's not like beating up the other kids for their lunch money or anything. And yep! she's growing out in that tank for now, until I can put her in my big fishy (275 gallon) tank.

Well, it’s possible that the female gouramis are chubbier, but I really don’t have knowledge with this species of gourami.

She looks like she may as well have eaten a fish, I have no idea what's going on with her. as long as nothing is wrong, I don't care. but she's so sweet and perfect I don't want to lose her.

As long as she is eating and pooping she should be okay - just make sure you aren't seeing any signs of dropsy (raised scales, lethargy).

Any chance she could be bearing eggs they say a female will look like she has a golf ball in her when she's bearing eggs I have 1 that's breeding and she's got a similar buldge
