Giant Danios With Neon Tetras

I wouldn't go with danios for a couple of reasons. 1) They like much cooler water than the tetras and 2) they're so infamous for mycobacterial infections that they've been used in many scientific studies.

I think they would be fine. The temperature range for neons is 68-75f and for the danios it is 65-75f so they are temperature compatible. If you are nervous about the size difference then you could go with a smaller danio.

The school sizes are quite small, I'd up them all to about 15.

I agree about the size difference. I feel Neon Tetras are easily outcompeted and stressed by having larger tankmates.

I have pearl danios. I'm just going to stick with them instead of giant danios. I love them. Their personality and salmon-style look is awesome.

I do love giant danios so it would be fun to have them at some point.
