Anyone know where to buy tennis-ball-sized golden apple snails online?

I don't think they often get that large. I remember when I first found out they get big, and commented on it, people said they usually get to only around golf ball size.

You're thinking of pomacea caniculata (spelling), the giant apple snail. They are considered a pest in many parts of the world, and I believe illegal to transport across state lines. You can find them wild in Florida. Pomacea diffusa, the apple or mystery snail, tips out at big golfball, and is also widely considered a pest, but is widely available.

If I may ask a question regarding snails...I have never had one but are interested in them. When you get one (a typical apple snail) from you LFS and it's small, how big will they grow to be? Do there shells grow with them or do you need to provide larger shells? Sorry if I hyjacked and these are silly questions.

Their shells grow; this is why it is important to have enough calcium in the water. They reach about golf ball size
