Ghost Shrimp Preggo!

My mother in law came to visit, saw how much I’m loving my fish, decided to buy me a whole lot more ‍♀️
Now I have ghost shrimps, Roseline barb, and swordtails, added to my mollies, Cories, and bamboo shrimps.
I need a bigger tank, I know. But for now, I just noticed one of the ghost shrimps she got me is carrying eggs. I don’t have anywhere to put her. My QT tank is now housing molly babies that I wasn’t expecting. I didn’t know she was pregnant until I saw the other fish chasing her and noticed the babies swimming around.
I just separated the preggo ghost shrimp into a container. I have no idea what to do with her. Will the babies live inside the main tank? Or can they survive in the container I put her in? I’ve included pictures of my main tank and the container I have. Please advise.

If you want to keep the babies, they will need to be kept away from mollies big or small. These fry make great protein snacks for your fish if you choose not to keep them, but as much fry as most shrimp produce, you may have survivors. It all depends on if you want more or not.

The fry could be raised in your little container if need be but would have to be fed regularly.

Do I need to remove the mom after the baby shrimps are born? Will she lay the eggs somewhere, or will she carry them until they hatch? When should I remove her if I need to. Will she eat the babies?

You don't have to, but I would, as it could get overcrowded in such a small space, and being larger would enjoy the larger space. She will lay them somewhere in my experience, and she laid them in a nice, hidden spot. She won't eat the babies, and your space is large enough for them to live happily considering you have had luck keeping shrimp thus far.

Thank you. I’ll keep her separate and wait to see what happens.
