As long as the bucket has only been used for water changes and such, I believe it will be fine Please be sure to completely rid the tank of the medication before placing them back

Once my tank is cured how do I remove the medication? Just using carbon ?

Carbon yes, and several water changes just in case

Make sure they can't climb out! It would be quite a shame if one of them ended up on the floor Also, you'll want to be sure the temperature doesn't drop too much. But I think they will be fine Luck to you.
