HI everyone I recently had a child and have neglected my tank and now I have what I believe is blue green algae it's covering my plants and there's some on the glass. What I have done so far is cut the light to 6 hours a day, did a fairly big water change, added some new carbon infused filter media and I'm going to feed every other day. I have no experience with this stuff so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Manually remove, increase frequency and size of water changes, and increase flow.

If it just becomes too much, treat with erythromycin. It's an antibiotic. While it's generally not recommended to throw meds at a tank that doesn't really need it, it is a shortcut if you don't have time for the heavy maintenance (and it sounds like you don't with a new baby! Congrats, by the way!).
