As I said in my last post got a 75 gallon and want a south American tank but don't know what I could I hav in it. Should a do a couple larger fish like dempseys and terrors. Or more smaller like Firemouths and convicts. I would like some different suggestions on stock. I want as much as possible and can get more filtration then the 350 canister I have. Thx

I am sorry that nobody has answered your questions and kind of surprised we have several cichlid lovers on the forum from what I have seen! Hopefully they will answer soon! Good luck with your stocking!

HI convict15,
Hopefully some of our more experienced cichlid members will chime in soon (it is early morning in good ol' USA)

I have added "(SA Cichlids)" to your thread title to hopefully draw their attention.

In that size tank, you couldn't keep much with a Dempsey or a terror. Possibly a convict and a catfish of some sort.
Id stick with the smaller species personally... Or you could keep a single wet pet such as an oscar or red devil?

A single larger cichlid with a smaller variety pleco would be cool. I think a texas, GT or JD would work fine as a sole fish. May even get away with a pair of JD's.

Have you thought about getting say 4 Angels?

The only problem with that is firemouths aren't as aggressive as convicts, especially when breeding. Do you like the idea of an all male tank ?

I'd say unlikely. Cons and jewel pair would be possible if they are separated with some extensive rock work in the middle of the tank.
