Getting Driftwood To Sink?

I just picked up this 3’6” piece of driftwood and it refuses to sink despite weighing ~40lbs or so. Any ideas on how to get it to sink? It’s way too massive to weigh down with rocks, I cannot soak it in the bathtub, boiling isn’t feasible, and I don’t have a big enough bucket. Can I soak it in a used trash can as long as I rinse it off before adding it to the tank? I can’t see any other way of treating a piece this large. I also think it’s too big to attach a slab to

    Will it ever sink?

That is very nice wood, you can soak it in a trashcan no problem there. Either that or weigh it down with something is about the only two options I can see working.

Thanks! I’m hoping I can just line it with a trash bag and pray it sinks on it’s own eventually

That's not too massive to weigh down with rocks.

Put some big rocks on the top, put some rocks inside it. There's even spaces in it you could shove rocks into.

I wouldn't soak it in a used trash can though. Too much crap and who knows what chemicals.
