Getting algae marks off stone

Humz26

Hi everyone,

Recently I had a really bad episode of black beard algae in my aquarium…. I have now got that under control but in the process I removed some of my seiryu stone that was covered in it! I stored it away and let it dry out. Now I wanna use it in another tank but the stone is literally stained green from all the algae. Anyone got any tips and tricks to get rid of the green tinge on the rocks before I use them. Much appreciated

I like the green tinge but if you want to get rid of it trying rinsing it under the tap and using something rough like this to clean it.
They're for dishes but if you buy one you can keep it specially for aquarium use

Hydrogen peroxide will kill the algae. Simply let the rocks soak after applying peroxide and then scrub off the decaying algae after a few days.

If peroxide won't bleach it out sunlight and weather will.

Thanks for the replies everyone….. I’m gonna try these and see if it works, I heard about using bleach too but I can only get hold of scented thick bleach so seems like it may be better to skip that idea.
