Getting a new female betta

Heather's Half moon Red Dragon fry is 3 months old now. A lot of the females were born without ventral fins. So I offered to take one off her hands. She will be bringing me her the next time she comes in town. If she show me pixs I will post em here, of course.
I have decided that I am not getting anymore LFS Veil tail Betta for awhile. I have 3 left so hopefully my boys will last for awhile. I am going to try and get fancy tail types from now on. So the female will be my first Half moon Betta. She has other Betta breeding so I may end up with some more in time.
Here's the parents, so cool looking. Hope the females look like Mom.

Those are a beautiful pair! I'd love to have the little ones too. That would get me, the little ones without ventrals.

Most breeders would have culled them.
Since I am not breeding betta, I have a space for an imperfect female.
Holly has like 1.5 short ventrals...one of hers is really short.

Heather's Cooper pair bred and she has fry about 3 weeks old now. If she has a male to sell I may find a space for him....or buy him a new one.

Mom and Dad are a sight to behold! Will you go to Heather's to pick out your new girl, or will Heather select one for you? Either way, I'm sure you'll get a beauty, since Heather has become such a good friend of yours. She sounds like such a kind person from other posts you've written, and giving the ones without ventrals a chance at life is commendable.

True. I wonder how many were born without ventral fins - we'd be glad to take in some, if we could.. stupid border & fish laws.

Heather will probably send pix and let me pick. She is one of the good ones in the hobby, that is for sure.

She has 6 females without ventrals, the rest are most likely male. There were 15 fry to begin with...not sure exactly what's left for males or unsexed yet.

I love a breeder like her, when we were at the Betta Show the breeders we met didn't seem to mind culling their bettas.
