Congrats on the new pets, picture tax is required once you get them! I'd also love to see pics of your cage as you get it set up and ready to go.

It's been many years since I kept budgies, but here's a few things that stood out to me:

I recommend getting a net to go around the bottom of your cage. They're REALLY messy and one of those nets will save you TONS of time cleaning.

Also regarding mess: Food bowls are a huge source of mess outside the cage. An alternative for the food bowl would be one of those bowls that hangs on the outside of the cage with a plastic "cave" around/over the bowl. The bird would perch at the entrance and then put their head into the bowl cave to eat, thus preventing some of the mess. Make sure to check it often though, as they will remove the casing around the seed and leave that in the bowl (any kind of bowl, actually, not just this specific type) which can sometimes make the bowl look full, but it's actually just seed casings. You'll need to check often and clean that out. There's tons of bowls like this online--search "no-mess bird cage feeder" and you'll get a ton of great results.

They're also voracious chewers of...basically everything. I'd recommend having a handful of "backup" toys sitting aside so you can replace toys that get too damaged. They're also really active minded and appreciate having toys swapped out sometimes even if they're not broken.

Can't wait to see pics of your new bird-friends!!

You will find it harder to tame 2 budgies than one. A single budgie will bond with its owner whereas 2 budgies will bond with each other and pay less attention to humans. Unlike canaries not all budgies like to bathe in a dish of water. They do enjoy playing and rolling around in wet grass. I used to mist mine occasionally with a spray mister.
