Get shrimp out of big tank

Anyone has experience with this:
I had just settled in my new 300L (80G) tank, when the front glass leaked. Result: I had to empty it (in the early hours - saw it starting as I was just getting to bed...) and there is now four fingers of water left.
I know there where shrimp in there, but I can't find a single one...
I have taken out my tall plants and grass-plants (Lilaeopsis); only the peat, some Anubias and my Hemianthus lawns are still in the tank.

Any 'easy way' of getting to the shrimp?

Google "aquarium shrimp trap" you can make one with a gatorade bottle and they catch themselves. Alternatively, heres a link for a pest trap:

If I place a few vegetarian flakes inside the bottle trap - do you think that will work?
Or will a smashed green pea be better?

I would use whatever they seemed to really enjoy prior. Maybe an algae wafer, I think most shrimp would go for that.

I don't have algae wafers. I tried with a few flakes of fishfood (of the green ones...).
The snails got there first, so I used net traditional way - net.
They were not too hard to catch, most seem to 'go willingly' into the net... much easier than fish!

Thank you anyway for your input and ideas.

My shrimps all love spinach...steamed or boiled. I use it as a treat.
So I lay my net in the tank and then put the spinach in it near to the back of the net.... 20 or 30 minutes and most will be in the net on the first try. Lift the net sharply at first then raise it out and dump your shrimp into a floating tupperware bowl...tah..dah, you will have them
Continue until mostly all are caught.
And of course use your shrimp's absolute favorite food.
You can them net out the few left behind....let the treat just lay on the substrate in a clear area.

I know this is an old post but folks will read it....and is a good topic for shrimp keepers

Thanks.
I learned from Lucy: even old threads can be useful.

Good advise. x
