I recently got 2 German gold rams, I’m trying to see which gender they are. I’ve read you can usually tell by their dorsal fins but I’m just not sure. Help? 9af6c3609b9cea8f2965a65aec3dbc02.jpg85530ee5ec881f1a3e614797b703e15f.jpg

The true way to check is the vents but little harder to tell when the fishes are juvenile. Just going by the fin shapes (which is not a very reliable way) i would say the second looks to be female and the first probably male

    Bottom looks male .
    Top possibly female.
I go by anal fin. A males may extend into the tale while most females anal fin ends at the base of tail.
Males will also usually be noticeably larger if they are same age .
    Nice looking fish there .

Lol. I go by pelvic fins, same as what you said but relative to anal fin. :) If tips of pelvic fins are long and extend beyond the start of the anal fin, it should be male. If pelvic fins are shorter and only just barely reach the start of the anal fin, probably female. So same conclusions as you!
