George the Betta

Just picked up George from my LFS today. He’s a dumbo half moon and my first betta. I’m not sure if this is cause for concern but I notice that his dorsal fin is always bent to one side and never spreads out even when he is flaring, could this be fin rot?

It may fix itself over time. Remember, they are kept in little cups.

Thank you for the response. Actually at my LFS they keep them in 3 gallon cubes.

Are there any preventative measures I can take?

Keep the water clean and keep an eye on him. Clean water is the cure for almost all fish ailments. And poor quality water is the cause for most issues

Fresh clean water. Something like cattapa leaves may help too.

Can fin rot spread to the other fins or would the dorsal fins be the only ones affected?

It could, but if you keep the water clean it shouldn't
