GBR eggs and Amano Shrimp a good mix?

To our delight, our German Blue Ram couple started laying eggs this evening. We had some medicine in the tank previously and had pulled our Amano shrimp (6) and mystery snails (2) out into our quarantine tank with our Molly fry while treating the tank. The invertebrates were scheduled to be rehomed back to the big tank on Monday as the medicine should be cleared out by now. My immediate concern upon seeing the eggs being laid was whether or not the shrimp would pose a problem. I understand that the Rams will protect their eggs but wanted to make sure that the shrimp (or the fat snails for that matter) would not pose a problem.

So what do y'all recommend, is it safe to bring back the invertebrates or should I play it safe and leave them in the small tank?

Thanks for your time.

Welcome to Fishlore,

I would play it safe and not re introduce them. Sometimes shrimps are explorers and might wonder to the GBR territory.

Congrats on being GBR grand parents ;-)

Thanks for the feedback, I will leave the inverts in the quarantine.

All of my shots with one of the Rams over the eggs always ended up focusing on the roots.

Front facing is the proud papa who seems to be eating an awful lot of the eggs as I type this (the first go might not take with this pair). The mother is behind him with a red belly and a red face. Below the male and to the left a bit are the eggs.

(Photobombing in the back is a rummy nose tetra and up top is a pygmy gourami.)
