Wow, what a beautiful betta. Why don't you get your parents to buy it and you can pay them back? He is so beautiful. But you should check with the seller if they are certified to sell to other countries so he is not taken by the border patrol. If you bid on him, good luck.

Go and buy a temp tank when they are shipping him. If all else fails by a vase for a tenp home so you can get a better home for him.

Miley,

Did you notice that this betta comes from Thailand? You might be better to check with Miami Aquariums or somewhere here in the US with a breeder where you would not have to pay transhipper fees. It is very expensive to pay a shipping fee from Thailand and then from a transhipper too. When I bought Nate from Thailand the fees just to get him here not counting the cost to buy him were over $40.00. That would make this fish $65.00+ by the time you paid $25.00 for him. Miami Aquariums have some lovely fish for $9 or $15 and they charge $27 shipping right now during hot weather. That would still be a lot higher than the pet stores but a lot less than ordering from Thailand.

Most of their fish are located here right now:

WOW chicadee... that's some great news about Miami Aquariums shipping cost in warm weather! I'm going to go to their site right now and check out Bettas. I also agree with you on that shipping from Thailand... if not only for the cost, but also what that poor fish goes through during the long shipping time it takes... But btw.. that truly was a gorgeous betta tho wasn't it! ;D

Ask your parents if you can borrow the money and they don't have to give you $25 a week until it is paid off. This way you in a win-win situation(unless the parents add interest to it).

My little RJ is from Miami aquariums. He's the healthiest betta, aside from pebbles(rescued from Petco) that I've had since started having them.He was 3months when I got him, so now I'd say he's about 8 months now. He's a good boy and I haven't had problems with him yet, knock on wood. I very highly recommend Miami Aquariums should you decide to buy a betta online.Javier( owner ) is very nice to deal with and if you send him any questions via email he get's back to you promptly.Natalie

I doubt that you would even come close to Dino in regards to number of tanks.

Javier will be getting a new shipment of Bettas in on Friday (tomorrow) so he will have the most colors and types available then. He is sending me a Crowntail and sent me 2 that arrived today. One was supposed to be for a friend of mine but he has again chickened out on the care of the little guy so I am now dividing 2 of my tanks and will have gotten 3 new bettas this week. I have pictures of the first two here. (Qwin and Triton) (Proteus will be coming next week).

Qwin is a double tail Crowntail (orange with beautiful blue eyes) and he was supposed to be a gift to my friend but I won't mind being his mommy at all.

Triton is a lavendar and red Combtail and is so pretty! I have been watching one on eBay that Javier had listed but could not come up with the money so now it does not look like I will need to. Triton is just as nice. (although the one on eBay is really nice!) I will put his photo here too.
