HI Fishlore fam. I heard garlic is actually good for aquarium fish how true is that?
I had a clove of garlic chopped to pieces and dropped in the fish tank. Good or bad?
Kindly advise.
Thanks.

Depends on what size aquarium you have. That amount in a 75-gallon might be okay but it'll be way too much for a 10-gallon aquarium.

It's mostly good. Nothing wrong with it. But in time it will rot if nothing eats it and that's not good.

Garlic is good for them to eat. I use it when making fish food.

My green terrors love it. Ive tried catfish stink bait too and they go crazy for it.

Fish absolutely love garlic. I've heard it's healthy too. But only big fish can really eat it since it's not easily chewed. Maybe dunk your bloodworms in it if you have small fish.

There's a reason all powerbait is garlic flavored...

Fish love garlic. Many aquarists even use garlic to entice fish to eat a type of food.

Oh thanks all for the advise. But I noticed this morning the tank water was smelling of garlic. I hope it won’t affect anything especially the ecosystem.

Do a water change. You probably put too much in.
