Garlic for picky eaters

I purchased a ram from a big box store that was a little skinny and felt bad for him. Had him since Saturday and have only witnessed him eat 1 or 2 frozen bloodworms since. I should receive prazi pro today to treat for parasites. I believe he's pretty much wiped out the copepod colony in the qt tank but is showing no interest in any food I've offered besides the 1 or 2 bloodworms he ate, one he chewed on for about 30 seconds before spitting it out. Anyways what does everyone recommend for garlic juice to soak food in? I have a jar of minced garlic with only garlic water and citric acid as ingredients, would the citric acid be detrimental to the rams health? There's also two kuhli loaches in qt that I purchased with the ram that will join the school of 5 in the display tank. They seem healthy so far and eat anything I put in for the ram.

I have always used a product called Garlci Gaurd to soak the fishes food in. I've never seen it local and had to order online. I don't think the citric acid would be a problem, but I'm not 100% on that.

I think the garlic is safe. not 100% but I would use it. You may want to call the petstore and find out what food they were feeding the fish, as he might be used to it. You could get some, then ween him off of it if its not the best quality food.

I'll double check but they said flake food and algae wafers. It's shown no interest in either. But I do see him cruise the quarantine and pick at the substrate and sponge filter. I've only seen him poop once but it looked normal so I assume he's eating copepods. Still gonna treat for parasites. I'll try soaking frozen bloodworms in the juice and see if he eats more than just 1.

Thanks, I'll have to order some as I haven't seen it local either.

You need to find out the spicific brand and exact type if you want to test my thery, for example " Tetra super color" though that might not be the issue your fish has at all, soo...

If you have some grocery store jar garlic in water not oil (not powder) you can use that too. Just get some of the juice and soak the worms in it.
