Gap In Lid

Hello Fellow Fishlorians!

I recently took off a piece of my lid and I have much better lighting for my 20 long! (Pic of piece attached below)

Well, now there’s a huge gap where the piece sat. (Photo attached of gap and my hand for size comparison.)

How should I cover it up?

I wouldn't think you need to unless you have jumping fish or shrimp.

I just want to be safe. I have some bettas and I've heard some stories of people finding their bettas dead on the floor.

If you need it to be clear, you can buy a sheet of plexiglass at home depot and cut it to size. Or buy a replacement plastic strip for a glass lid, which should fit yours. Or just go to town with tape, sandwiching it so that no sticky parts are exposed.

I have lost a few bettas to jumping, so I am paranoid about even small open spaces.

I like to use left of sponges for filtration and wedge it in there. Still promotes airflow, and stops escapees and highly customizable and cheap!
