gang valve and check valve needed?

fishcrazy99

On my air pump I have a two way gang valve. I think I read somewhere that it can't back siphon with control valve like that on there. I have a check valve on anyways but I would like to remove it. Can it still back siphon with the gang valve on there?

Yes. If the power goes out and the pump is below the water line.

You really should do this with all the electrical wires from the aquarium.

the pump is about a foot and a half above the waterline but it still manages to go up when the power goes out.
