I set up my 55 gal today, I initially wanted to for when my angel pair spawned I was going to use it for baby angelfish.

now it’s just cycling with seeded filters and I’m unsure what to do with it lol.

open to any suggestions except African cichlids. Planted, freshwater only, brackish, black water?

it’s got natural stone gravel, 2 seeded power filters and a planted light capable of mid tech plants.

A huge school of bosemani rainbow fish would look cool. I personally would add in some tannins to make the water slightly tinted. You could also add in some black neon tetras if you wanted smaller fish.

I’m going to an exotic reptile/fish store In Florida tomorrow and I’ll be seeing what plants are available then. Plants first and then I’ll see whAt fishies they have in stock.

cannot wait you see what can get! Would love rainbows in stock.

I had bosemani only in mind, but came back with 4 gourami, bushy nose and 6 loaches in addition to the only rainbow had left

the clown will be rehomed

light is a t5 dual fixture with 1 65k white bulb and 1 pink bulb for plant growth

I have an addition regular flourescent light hood on back

I got 2 sword plants and they weren’t the best looking but I planted them with root tabs so hoping they come in nicely not much longer

The jungle vals have been added

right now there are:
2 opaline gourami
2 gold gourami
1 Bristlenose pleco
3 maybe 4 Kuhli loaches

Ya one kuhli died And I haven’t seen a 4th. At any given time I’ll only see 3.

the rainbow has been moved into the 125 gallon and the clown I gave to a local fish store to rehome.

I’ve been there a few times, but not in years.
It has a great fish store specialized in cichlids called Poseidon for decades.
Now we’re more limited in the direct area.

fishy business in Longwood is excellent always worth the drive!

I agree, it would. I went to get one today but then with all the money I spent I ended up realizing that can wait.

I also am quarantining discus fish in a bare bottom 29 gallon with only 2 sponge filters rAted up to 60 gallons and 1 300 watt heater.
So NEW project about to start aswell!
