Hello!

I am currently running two Fluval 206's on my 55 gallon long tank, but was thinking about getting a larger canister, possibly an FX4? The only thing I am worried about is it being TOO much flow for my tank. Does anyone else run an FX4 on a tank this size? I do want to jump up to a 125 in a few years (once the lady and I buy a house).

You might want to have a look at the Sunsun HW-5000. It's $100 less than the FX4, can move more water than the FX6, includes UV filtration, and has a DC pump that can be adjusted over a wide range. It's more than you need right now, but it can be adjusted for an appropriate flow, and it will readily handle the larger tank you have planned. There are unboxing and review videos on YouTube.

Are you finding the 2 x 206 canisters inadequate for your 55? Since you already have them it makes more sense to me to keep them and add to them if necessary. You could certainly swap them for an FX4 but an FX6 would be a better choice for the future 125.
