Fuzzy white on my Betta's tail

So my betta has fuzzy white patches on his tail, I've been treating him with a fungus cure, one the pet store recommended, as well as salt in his water. It has been about 5 days and it is not really any better. Also, there is a bunch of the white stuff at the bottom of the tank now and when he lays on the bottom it gets stuck to him again. What else should I be doing?

Here are some pictures that may help.

Also, he is still very lively and swims around his tank a lot! And he is eating.

Is this tank cycled? What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH?

Please fill out your aquarium info on your profile page. We need to know what size tank, when it was started, any other stock in tank, etc.

Thanks.

Okay, I updated what I could but I do not have a test kit that I can check the levels. I clean it every week, the pet store told me that was too much and to try every other week. When I tried that is when I noted the white patches. I'm going to go back to cleaning it every week but I am not sure how I can get rid of it now that he has got the white patches.

Your store gave you very bad advice. The smaller the tank, the more frequent the water changes.

Your 1 gallon is just too small for a male betta. Minimum, in my opinion, should be 5 gallons. Your tanks also require filters. No filters mean nothing is nitrifying the ammonia. This is why your fish is sick.

You should be doing 50% water changes daily. By doing this, you'll reduce the ammonia.

How much salt are you putting in?

If you can get Kordon Rid Ich Plus (doesn't treat just ich), get some.

You need to think about upgrading your tanks and getting filters for each.

Oh, welcome to the forum!

Welcome to FishLore!

I have had good luck with Maroxy with my betta.
Sadly I haven't been able to find it lately.

As Lynda said, water conditions are paramount to helping our fish heal.
