Fuzzy white ball on fish, fungus?

My african cichlid has been sitting in the top corner of my tank and I am not sure if he is eating. He has a fuzzy white ball on the side of his face. Please help me identify what he has and how to treat. Is this fungus on a scrap or injury?(new to this form)

 

Definitely looks like fungus to me. I don't know what meds. are available where you live but the first thing to do is make sure the waters as good as possible, some larger water changes if you need to treat in the tank. If you have the facility to isolate the fish then I would do that before adding meds.
You can use pimafix in the main tank without harming the cycle but this is only of limited use, it's good to prevent the problem spreading but not that effective at treating. In isolation you could use stronger meds without risking other fish or your bacteria.
I live in the UK where most meds available in the US can't be bought without a vetinary prescription so I use interpet fungus and finrot but you may be able to buy something better where you live.
If you don't have a hospital tank you could use a heater in a bucket of tank water and keep it fresh with daily water changes. If you have a warm room you can even skip the heater.

 

Thank you for the information. I am in canada so medicine so I should be able to get medicine like fin rot meds. The white fuzz has seemed to have been knock off, probably by another cichlid. And there looks to be a few small scratches or even holes does fin root affect that area or is there another disease that can cause something like this or is it most likely just a scratch from a fight.

 

Its just a wound it will clear up on its own.

 

The fuzz is an infection from the scratches I think. One of my fish had a red spot with a fuzz ball around it. My LFS said that it was an infection.
