Hello

I have a funny betta name conan who hates his new home .I wanted to be a good fish mom and up grade his old home to a nice awesome 10 gallon aquarium .He is in a 1 gallon aquarium with heater, gravel, sunken pirate ship, fake plant.I like to change his water in 3 days ( wedsday) .This fish has been happy in the small aquarium I set up a 10 gallon aquarium with every thing .The Tank did get cycled,He was in there about 1 month with no other fish .He just sat at the bottom looking really bored.I was worry he was sick.Look at him and look like nothing was wrong with him.he did eat and stuff but did't swim .In the second month I put him back in the 1 gallon aquarium .I just guess he was home sick.He start be normal again.I can just say betta have personally and have lot of guts to make me worry so much .Am just going to keep him in a 1 gallon aquarium,I will try a 5 gallon aquarium when I get one. new fish owner please get a 5 gallon max for betta and never but them in a bowl they live less .My betta may be happy but I think its right for betta to live in a bigger tank.My fish got to use to it and will not do as well as the one in a 5 gallon or bigger And may die young too give I allot of care and feed well it will take your breath away .

Lets me know what betta story you have picture coming soon

How long did you have him in the 10 gallon tank? It may have just been a matter of getting used to things.

He was in the fish tank for 1 month with no fish . He had all his other item in the 1 gallon put in the aquarium and more fake plant and hiding places.Yes he had a heater and filter . The aquarium was cycled about 6 weeks or more.I guess it was a shocker to him ? Small tank to a big one.I was not sure if I wanted to put him in a 10 gallon aquarium.I think 1 betta in a 10 gallon is not my cup of tea.To much space,But he was to cramp in the 1 gallon wanting to be a good mom I did put him in there .Am thinking of diving the 10 gallon aquarium. So I can put betta on one side and the other endler/guppy or should I get one more betta ?

My betta loves his 10 gallon. I dunno what's up with yours, maybe he's just special. You could divide it in half and do two Bettas if you wanted to, I dunno much about endlers and guppies tho.

I don't know if your first idea would be over stocked, but the fish could be at risk of being bitten by the ADF. The ADF will also probably have to be spot fed to make sure the fish don't eat his food.

Your second idea sounds pretty good, just be aware that your chery shrimp will be at risk of being eaten by a betta. They will need a lot of hiding places (live mosses work really well) and you may not see much of them.

The shrimp might rip your bettas fins.

Ghost shrimp have a suprisingly high bioload, 1 gallon per shrimp, so I wouldn't get them

They might take a snap now and then (like when your betta is at rest!)

I will see if it works if not I will take it out If it happen that my betta and endler hates the shrimp I will put the shrimp in the 1-2 gallon .Can they live with no heater no filter ?

I wouldn't discount ghost shrimp so quickly. They can't have that much of a bioload. My 10 gallon has a betta, 6 neon tetras, a cardinal tetra, MTS and at least a few dozen ghost shrimp (started with 3). It hasn't caused any issues. Also, despite all these shrimp, I don't have issues with them and my fish. Once I started dropping in a few fish pellets at night, they hardly ever went for my betta's food either. I'm not saying you'll have the same experience, but it can be done.

Edit: there are freshwater prawns that can get mixed in with ghost shrimp, and they could cause a lot of problems, but there are ways to tell them apart.

I have a 1-2 gallon aquarium,It has sponge filter. But no heater ,Its close to the window and has some plants in there .Can I put some shrimp in there and my snails .The 1-2 gallon aquarium is a test tank.My mom and I wanted to see how the aquarium plants do.I will feed the shrimp and snail food so it will not starve to death .Later on I will put them in the 10 gallon aquarium. But I have to make a diver first.I don't want my betta to get stress from my endler

Shrimp like consistent temperatures. A container that small would likely change in temperature very quickly when exposed to sunlight. I have had success keeping plants and pond snails in a small jar in my window, but I dunno if other types of snails could survive.

I like the larger snails, they're fun to watch. I haven't had any luck keeping them alive long term, though... Keep an eye on your ammonia/nitrite readings over the next few days jsut to be safe, they are very high waste producers.
