Yes, I have been keeping a lot of these plants in sand (they are kept in various tanks when I get them). Both are still available so you can order whatever you'd like.

BTW, I would suggest root tabs if your substrate is just plain sand. Oh, and if you could refresh my memory on your lighting (I assume this is for your 30 gal), that would be great... some of these plants aren't going to do too well in low lighting.

I know it's a coralife bulb, pretty bright I think. I'm asking my husband which bulb it is. He orders them, so he'll know.
