Fry ready for release?

Hi!
This is my first post on here. My name is Jess and I have a tank with three African dwarf frogs, a Molly and a platy. My Molly and platy had some fry a few weeeks ago but unfortunately I was only able to save one. He’s been growing steadily I think, but I think the fry should be bigger by now. I don’t want to keep him in the breeding pen any longer which I read can stunt his growth. He has been in there for two weeks now, and I attached pictures of him. I don’t know if he is big enough to be released into the big tank with the frogs and fish though. Would anyone be able to give me any advise?

We always just keep our platy fry in the tank. Have enough hiding spots for some to survive.

Hi ,
Welcome to fishlore.
The way I read your post Jparetzky someone already eat the rest of the fry before you could remove them?
Two weeks is not long enough. Sorry I think it will be another 3 weeks at least.

I see a nice fat little fry in your snapshot. Continue feeding small amounts of crushed up adults food.

A few good rules for releasing fry are when they're too big to fit in anyone's mouth from the main tank and when they're able to eat adult food.

Yes, I believe my Molly gave birth when I was at work, so when I arrived home, I could only find one fry.

Write down the date as the female will drop ( correct term) more fry in a month unless she is freaked by something such as being moved.
As was mentioned above having multiple hiding places is the easiest way to keep fry alive if that is what you want? Any clean plastic rubbish, takeaway food containers, drinking straws etc can be used. Plastic plants? The female will drop fry for at least 3 months even if you remove the male today. The male fry can breed at 3 months including with mum. And the female fry can breed at 4 months.
