Frustrated - Venting out

HI all. So about a month ago I was at Petsmart and ordered another 55 gallon starter kit because none of the stores around me had any, this was so I could prepare for the selling of Solid Gold's Butterfly Telescopes AND to alleviate some of the bio-load of my current 55.

Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten there and her Telescopes go on sale this Friday and I'm just stuck here, money in hand and no extra fish tank. Really bummed out too because she has such pretty telescopes. The family did suggest putting one more in but the cons outweigh the pros and those are more frequent water changes (I'd say once a day) and I'd have to divide it from the others because I don't know how that darn fantail will react to a bug eyed Goldfish if it reacts badly to a Pearlscale. Not to mention that the tank is already overstocked with five Fancies. I hope the tank gets here soon but I doubt that'll happen.

Well this post serves no purpose other than to vent...

Thanks for reading. Also, before anyone suggests it, the sterilite storage tubs have been considered, I just don't have the space for one.

You've probably thought it through, but if you don't have room for a storage tub, how would you have room for an extra 55?

I wasn't specific but what I mean is, I don't have a safe place for the tub, I have a perfectly good corner (The place where the next 55 could go) but the problem is elevation.

Why couldn't it sit on the floor? Are you using a canister filter or HOB?

I have dogs, who when curious like to pee on things. Pee goes into tub = Dead 70 dollar fish.

Oh, I guess all you could do is wait and hope that the tank comes quick and that the telescopes won't sell out by the time you're ready for them.

Yeah, unfortunately.

Sorry to hear your tank hasn't arrived, yet. Can Petsmart give you any idea when it will be in?

What kit is it?

Wal Marts here usually have the Tetra 55 gallon kits for about $150.

I looked in Wal-Mart and there are none here. My family is also pressuring me to just put him in the tank and do more water changes because the tank will arrive eventually but morally I'm just not sure. Eliminating the care aspects (Which is a pretty big category to eliminate) water changes are nothing for me, I get them done in less than 20 minutes but I don't know how to feel.

Fishkeeping is a struggle. Haha, well I'm probably going to not listen to my family but things may change, I don't know. All I know is that I'm taking better care of these current Goldfish than I was with my very first ones (4 Goldfish in a 10 gallon, why don't you all take a guess as to what happened with that tank)
