Frozen Pipes?

Anyone else have this happen yet? The line to the downstairs toilet frozen...found this out AFTER the 5 year old clogged the toilet. I'm also skipping doing a water change tonight since it is just too cold and I can't get the water hot enough from my garage sink.

I am on a local emergency (e.g. child locked in car, child locked in house, car stalled on busy street), and non-emergency response team (e.g. flats, boosts, car/house lockouts, house flooding, etc).

We have gotten numerous calls for burst pipes in the past 48 hours.

I am fearing that happening. Yesterday at about 3, the blower on our furnace went out. So much for our dinner plans. Tech couldn’t get to us til after 6 and $565 later, we have a new blower. And leftover Chinese takeout.

Yikes! I would have thought people would have called a plumber for that sort of thing!

Ugh! We just had our furnace and heat pump serviced so that should be ok. Knock on wood!

The line SHOULD be ok. My husband re-ran the plumbing lines downstairs about 2 years ago. He replaced all the copper lines with Pex pipe; Pex is more forgiving about being frozen compared to copper pipe.

By downstairs do you mean first floor or basement? Just curious.

The first floor. I refill the tank after every use since I have little kids and I'm a pregnant lady that gets too tired going up and down the stairs.
