Froggies!

I picked up two African dwarf frogs to go in my 10 gallon tank. They are both light gray in color. Happily, my betta has completely ignored them. I named the frogs Pierre and Juliette. Yesterday I watched one of the little guys tear into a small pond snail. I hope he eats all the pond snails (but not Beasley the nerite, of course!).

I gave them some tubefex worms (broke up the cubes and stuck pieces to the glass by the gravel) and they seemed to love eating it. They are cute little guys.

I also have some bloodworms and brine shrimp but I think I may have to feed those to them by tweezer.

I plan on picking up 1 more froggy to make it a trio. The pet store had 3 but the 3rd wasn't particularly healthy looking so I didn't get him.

You are missing one important thing.
Pictures!!

You are going to love your little frogs!!
I know I don't have to say this but keep on eye on any signs of aggression.

Good choice on leaving the 3rd one behind. Hard to do but wise.

What was wrong with him?

When the lady at Petsmart was netting them, the third froggy wasn't moving very much at all. She wouldn't sell him to me as she said she didn't think it was healthy. I agreed so I brought just the two home.

Right now they are hiding. When I feed them later this evening, I'll try to get pictures. Last night they started getting active around 5pm. Since they are light colored, they blend in with the gravel. The betta can't see them very well. He hasn't even gone to investigate them. I'm not sure if he doesn't care they are in there or if he just can't see them (like the ghost shrimp).

Since ADF's will lunge at things they perceive to be food (like a fish tail waving in their face lol) be mindful of the bettas fins as well.

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

So one of the froggies is doing a floating zen thing at the top... it looks like he's shedding his skin. Betta was swimming around him doing his betta thing at his reflection. Totally ignored the frog. I guess frogs don't count in bettaworld.
