Frogbit Turning Colors?

Hey all,

I added frogbit to my tanks several weeks ago. The stuff has EXPLODED, which is cool, but I noticed some of it is changing colors. Some of the leaves are yellow, or even a pinkish brown mixed with the green.

It’s still growing super fast, not losing roots or anything (I actually have to trim it a lot to keep the tank from filling with spaghetti, lol). Even the baby plantlets on those plants are that sort of pinkish brown color. The affected plants seem pretty healthy otherwise. Maybe a leaf here and there that looks a bit weathered around the edges.

The plants at the front and side of the tank are still green, which makes me think it’s either the light or the filter causing the change.

Any suggestions for keeping my plants healthy?

Are you using fertilizers? If so, what are you using?

High light can give it the purplish color.

I add a couple drops of Seachem Flourish a week. When I remember The other plants seem to like it.

I’m thinking you’re right. I’m going to move the light a bit forward and see if the spangles at the front of the tank get similarly “sunburned.”
