Freshwater dip?

I have been doing lots of research on dwarf seahorses and hydroids are their #1 killer. A freshwater dip kills the hydroids though. How do you do a freshwater dip? I am supposed to dip anything I put in that tank. Including the ponies. Won't the dip kill the live rock and live sand? I am probably going to use dead rock though. Is a 30 minute freshwater dip safe for the ponies, micro stars, nerite snails, and turbo snails I plan on adding? Will it kill the BB?

will kill some bb but not all. just more issue is getting the seahorse back to life.

For freshwater dips you use a separate container and adjust the ph and temperature to match what the fish is acclimated to and then put the fish in for a minute or two or until they show signs of major discomfort like laying sideways or upside down. I personally would not dip sand, rock or invertebrates but I am not a seahorse aficionado so not sure what length seahorse keepers go to with their dips.
