Freshwater Crabs?

HI all.

I have a 2.5 gal sitting around at home, and my mum is really keen on keeping some crabs..

A lot of places I've read up on say that ThaI Micro crabs and Pom Pom crabs both need 5 gals to keep the water parameters stable.

Thankfully, I've never had any issues with water stability in my years of fishkeeping, but I'm no crab expert (never kept them yet)

So, to anyone who's kept crabs, could I keep a few in a 2.5?

TLDR; Can I keep a few small freshwater crabs in a 2.5 gallon tank.

If I had to chose I would go with the thaI micro crabs. They should have an established tank similar to shrimp.

Ah thank you! I have some shrimp thriving in a 5 gallon right now, so the set up shouldn't be too dissimilar.
