Does anyone have experience with freshwater clams? I might be getting some for my 36 g tank. It has sand and live plants. Current stock is 2 mystery snails and one 3 spot gourami

I only know 2 things about them : they are filter feeders and make sure to remove them ASAP when they die.

Yeah I’ve heard bad things happen when they die

I never had clams but have had freshwater mussels. They get huge compared to clams and live much longer but I think they are similar as far as care. Some flow but nothing extreme. Filter feed crushed flakes upstream.
