Freshwater Clams?

Does anyone here have experience with these little guys? Though not very active they seem like an interesting addition as well as a natural water cleaner.

I don't have much experience with them outside of knowing that they need a specialized setup and aren't appropriate for your average community tank.

Not the most interactive pet, the freshwater clam would probably need to live in a soup of phytoplankton which it would filter-feed to gain it's sustenance.

Probably an impractical proposition with little reward.

In practice likely to be a short term inhabitant on a steep downward slope to inevitable death accompanied by an inevitable ammonia spike at the end.
