Freezing Zucchini?

I want to feed my fish zucchini, so when I went to the store recently, I got a couple zucchinis. However, I don't have easy access to a grocery store. Could I slice up the zucchinI and freeze them? Would they still be good for the fish? Also, I'm not sure if they're organic, I forgot to check. Does it need to be organic, or would it be fine if I just washed it well first?

 

Yep, I freeze mine too. Then I put in microwave for a few seconds and cool it. Rinsing is fine, no need for organic.

I’ve used some frozen about 2 months before, not sure of exact freezer life.

 

I always buy frozen bags of zucchinI that way you can take a few chunks out n run it under hot water then cool it off and plop it in my frozen bags last a few months.

I usually buy 2-3 large zucchinis every couple of weeks. Wash the outside of the zucchinI well because they can be coated with pesticides, dirt, etc. I cut them in 1/4-1/2" slices and feed the first 7-8 pieces to my plecos. I put the rest in a tupperware container and into the freezer. I take out 7-8 pieces each time and soak them in a bowl with hot water for about 10 mins, then stab them with minI forks (dessert forks?) and drop them in the tanks. The raw pieces seem to last longer but the frozen ones turn softer (like blanching them).
