Freezing Mosquito Larvae

I've got a container with water outside and now I'm just waiting for mosquito larvae to form, but I can't feed my fish fast enough to use them all before they grow into mosquitoes and I also want some for the winter months.
Could I freeze my own mosquito larvae as food for my fish? If yes, how long will they last in the freezer?

Permanently, should be same as freezing hatched brine shrimp people do

Ive never tried it but think, They freeze brine shrimp and daphnia. I could see why not? They would last as long as other frozen foods. As long as they don't get freezer burnt.

Do you think the freezing process would get rid of parasitic or pathogen concern?

Just as I thought. Some say this about frozen foods. I personally wouldn't trust it unless you got it from a breeder who has them cultured for many years.

It is a lot safer than feeding them alive but it won't kill all virus and bacteria. Whether they will be harmful to your fish, I do not know but probably not. If your fish is really expensive and cannot risk them getting sick just use frozen food on market. It will save you time and money trying to collect and sterilizing bugs yourself
