Hey guys. Sorry I have no idea where to put this.

But lately I've been having an issue with these little flys ive never seen before. They definitely like water and I have killed at least 10 within the last 2 weeks around my 10 gallon and 20 gallon tanks. I've checked the filters and have found nothing. Anyone seen these before? Anyone have any suggestions?

I've seen a couple of these before, but I don't know how to get rid of them, unfortunately. They've usually gone away on their own for me

I've killed about 1 every day. It's been super annoying and inconvenient. They've also flown off my hood when I've opened it.

Beautiful drain flies. Or bathroom flies. They don't bite or have known to spread diseases. Larvae live in wet areas with decaying matter.

They live in sewer of your home. Pipes and stuff

Yes drain flies. Bleach will kill larvae. There are foaming agents that kill drain bacteria that is there harborage site.

Gross. Makes sense though. I'll have to bleach the sink and tub drains. We live in an apartment so no sewer pipes in our unit

Can I just say.. If they live in drains mate, they're spreading disease.

I think he means more that they aren't carriers of diseases like mosquitoes and deer ticks and tsetse flies are. Not the same thing.
