I use this light and love it. It is kinda like Nicrew as I think Fluval lights are too much for what they are. Just my 2 cents.

The fluval plant 3.0 LED light(Not nano) vs Nicrew gen 2
10 gallon
One betta and 4 ember tetras
My tank is mildly planted
Oh, okay. Good to know. IDK the par and lumens of that light BUT I do know the par and lumens of the Nicrew classic. (the light I link down below)I have the nicrew classic and it's amazing and affordable! The par is also quite high. I recommend the nicrew classic. My plants are thriving with that light. Also, what plants specifically do you have in that tank?

I think as far as PAR output you can find success with both. But if you handle a Nicrew and a Fluval, the construction of the Fluval is far superior which supports the 3 year warranty and true water proof ratings if the Fluval. They also have integrated timers vs the Nicrew needing something external.

I do agree they are a little more expensive than they probably should be. But I think that goes for most Fluval products. But they are great lights.

I think a Nicrew can be a grey light as well but you need to be a little more careful with splashing and such.

I use my Nicrews with glass lids to be safe. As far as the warranty, even if I broke a nicrew every year for 3 years it'd still be cheaper lol. But I've been running them for awhile now with no issues.

Good point! I guess just making the point that the length of warranty shows the quality. I have owned both and as far as plant growth and it was a nice pleasing light for the tank too. Some budget lights don’t do the tank justice.

Fluval lights are a luxury that is not necessary but they do have Bells and whistles to justify the price (to and extent)But I would not ever tell someone not to buy Nicrew.

I went from a Nicrew 24/7 automated to a Fluval Aquasky 2.0. Yes there is a big difference in the quality of the LEDs. The Fluval has a far nicer glow to it (could be related to the quality of the recifyer too). But the Nicrews are good for the price.

Also the Nicrew ones don't have true dimmable LEDs. It just lowers the Hz to simulate dimming and you can see the flicker. That's why they are much cheaper, proper dimmable LEDs are expensive.

Most plants did grow ok with it. I couldn't get more exotic things to grow using it though.
