So today at my local swap meet, I came across a Fluval Spec! The seller wanted $20 dollars for it, but I worked my bargaining magic and got it for 18.
Now, I cleaned it out and it came with a used bottle of seachem's prime and stability, which I tossed since I don't really trust it. (not the chems, but what might be in the opened bottles) The tank itself was in perfect condition, no scratches, no chipping, or cracks, and it held water fine. However, the lid is cracked, and there was no light, but after some amazon snooping I found that the replacement lid is only $7, and ill just buy a nicrew clip on since the actual fluval one is $50.
I'll be using flourite dark on this tank, and seiryu stone, for plants, monte carlo, and probably anubias, java fern, L. repens, or something else come across.
The only thing I don't know about, is stocking! This is just a 5 gallon, but its longer than a standard one, although its a little slimmer. Any suggestions?
