Fluval spec V pump won't shut up

I recently got a fluval Spec V (5 gallon) and the pump will not stop vibrating! I have the 2.6 gallon tank that uses the same exact pump, and that one is dead silent. anyone know how to make the pump cease its incessant grumbling? Should I just return it and ask for a new one? Any advice would be appreciated.

Is it seated all the way to the bottom of the tank? There are little suction cups on the bottom to help keep it still. It may be that it's off the bottom and vibrating against the sides.

Yeah, I have it pressed against the bottom firmly. I tried it in the middle of the tank to. even off the glass to see if the tank was vibrating. it's not buzzing against the tank. I even used my pump from my other tank and that pump was quiet. I think something involving the turbine (is that the right term?) is messed up

Yeah, sounds like you got a dud. I would see about exchanging it. Maybe write to Fluval/Hagen and ask if they have any ideas?
