60 Gallon Tank Fluval Roma 240 spray bar

So, I'm sure other people have adapted their filter output on the the fluval 306, but for some background. I have the Fluval Roma 240 (2016 version), which has a fluval 306 external filter where the input/output comes up through the bottom of the tank.

I'd like to change the output to a spray bar across the back, so I bought the fluval spray bar. Simple, surely. But no, the connectors are tiny compared to the tube on the output so it doesn't fit, and the spray bar is so narrow, I worry that pressure will build up and damage the filter.

So has anyone added a spray bar to their fluval roma 240 set up? If so, how did you do it?

Do you have a pic of the existing output pipework bermese? Wondering if you may need a wider rubber connector to link your output pipe to the plastic u-bend supplied with the spray bar, but cant picture what your set up looks like now. Yours has the drilled base and fitted pipework doesnt it?

You dont need to worry about the pressure building up either, i run a 307 with an even shorter spray bar (therefore less holes for the water to eject from) and it’s absolutely fine.

yeah, it's the predrilled base.

My lights have just turned off for the night, but I'll get a picture in the morning.

Does it matter if the pipe is narrow compared to the output piping? Will there be any problems with pressure do you reckon?

I think I’ve worked out what the issue is. Effectively the fluval-made output stem is so wide, so you will need an additional connector to fit the fluval-made spray bar. Genius, can’t believe they make things this difficult sometimes!

Do you know the diameter of the output stem by any chance? I can’t find that detail anywhere.

I will check first thing tomorrow.

Thanks for your help :)
