Fluval Flex 9 Gallon tank - Will This Combination Work?

I just bought a Fluval Flex 9 Gallon tank and was wondering if this combination of fishes would work well. Not sure of the male to female ratio. Picture of tank pictured. My daughter wants colourful fishes that have some personality.

6 ChilI Rasboras
3 to 6 Celestial Pearl Danios
1 Honey or Dwarf Gourami
2 Amano Shrimp

 

Unfortunately the dwarf gouramis need a tank of 20g+. I would suggest picking between the 2 schooling fish species and get a group of 8-10. You can keep the shrimp too

 

Ok, so the gouramis are out but the other two fish species would not co-exist? Not sure what to get if it isn’t as my daughters doesn’t want just one type of fish in the tank. Any suggestions then if that’s the case? Thank you for your reply!

 

Honestly I would do one school and some kind of centerpiece fish. Its not they wouldn't coexist its that they don't have enough swimming room. A sparkling gouromI would work.

Wow. That is quite the list! Honestly, I have been researching for days and googling on tank suggestions but there is so much controversy as to what size of tanks to use and the compability of fishes. I am soooo confused.

I think that the Cestial Pearl Danios (1 male - 5 females?) are keepers as they are as they are one of my daughter’s favourites. The sparkling gourami is lovely but too similar in colour. What are some centrepiece fishes that you recommend that are a colourful contrast to the Danios? Something preferably that tends to stay more in the mid level of the tank, has the same water requirements needs, and will get along with shrimp and Danios.

A male honey gourami may work, only gets around 4cm usually.

Maybe consider a betta? Colourful and would do wonderfully in that size tank

 

Bettas aren't really temp compatable with danios.

 

Sorry, meant that you'd be keeping just the Betta. Not with the Danios.
