Fluval Flex 9 gallon tank -- remote/lights stopped working

Hi, all.

Anybody have any issues with the Fluval Flex tank and the LED lighting built into the lid? My remote and lights no longer work after about 2 years of use.

At first, the remote control for the LED lights just stopped working. So, i replaced the battery, which didn't fix it. Then i ordered a new remote, which didn't fix it. So, i have to unplug and replug in the light fixture any time i want light. At least the white lights come on when i do that. Cannot control the lights otherwise.

So, it must be the actual LED light fixture and sensor on top of the tank???

Anyway, i've searched and searched and can't seem to find that part anywhere.

If anybody has some experience with this, please let me know.

Do i have to replace the entire tank now? ugh.

Thanks!

Thanks. I searched online and all the local stories, but finally called Fluval.
They were helpful, but sadly the part i need (sensor and lights) is back ordered til late April. ugh. oh well.

So, stuck bending down to plug/unplug the lights as needed. maybe i need to fix that wirey mess to make it easier...

My RBG quit working but the white still works.

You could get a cheap timer at the store and you wont have to turn it off and on. ;)

Good idea StarGirl .
i'm a novice owner, so don't know much about timers, lights, etc.
So, i'll poke around.
On the bright side, Fluval just reached out and will honor my expired warranty! yay.

Wallyworld sells smart outlets on the cheap. Plug the smart outlet into the wall, plug the light into the smart outlet. Use the app on your phone/tablet to turn the outlet on/off. Easy peasy.

I have experience with the Meross brand, available on Amazon. Work great but do require 2.4Ghz WiFi.
