HI everyone,
So I recently bought a 28 gallon setup that came with a Fluval C4. I didn't put the filter on at first because I had a AC30 that came from my 10 gallon and it was already seeded. Well, I wanted to start running the C4 so I can use the AC30 at some point back on the 10 gallon for my next setup. I haven't decided what I'll do with it just yet, but I want the option.
My problem is I got the C4 all cleaned up, I also pulled the impeller out and cleaned the motor housing. Nothing too extravagant, I just wiped the impeller off and flushed the motor housing with a little water. I hook it up tonight and that thing is ROARING! I mean it is LOUD! The filter is functioning fine, it has good water flow and everything. It's just loud as all get out! Have any of you had experiences with this? I read after Googling some people used vaseline or silicone lubricant on the impeller shaft. But I didn't know if that would be a good idea.
Thanks!
