my aquatop pump just quit and I need to make a decision and while I don’t have the money for this since I’ve spent so much the past few weeks on my fish —- I can’t secode which to get. While the 406 has reviews and is well received here; fluval has a newer model and I don’t know whether to dive into that with no ones perspective or go with the tride and true... please help. I need to order this ASAP!

Well those units aren't really enough for a 75 gallon tank. You will need about 600-750 gph for best efficiency. Both of those have only 383 gph each. So 2 would work. I run a Sunsun canister at 370 gph and a Seachem Tidal 75 HOB at 350 gph on my 75 tank for about 720 gph.

I have a circulation pump in my tank as well. The crapper is I just got the fluval fx4 on sale at petsmart for $199 for my other NEW 75g set up. Sale ended today. I figured out my aquatop pump died about the time the store closed. It’s $279 now. I can’t do that

OK. Just go with what you want then. Might want to take the Aquatop apart and check/remove the impeller for any obstruction and clean the inside of the housing.

My husband did that. Thank you. I plan on calling petsmart in the am to see if I can still get an fx4 at 199. I’m thinking the sale is over though.

Is the other setup... well setup? With fish? If not, could just pop the FX4 on the current tank and see if anything pops up for the other 75g. Also may allow you to trial the fx4 and have some first impressions to see if it's worth getting another.

Thanks! I forgot to update
I called petsmart and the sale was continued through June so we got the FX4 for $199 (orig $279).

@kdsm0527 , check out Liveaquaria.com

They have the Eheim 1200xl (2080) on clearance for $123. That is basically a steal.

Normally they are $350-$400.

Live Aquaria is no longer going to carry Eheim products, so they are trying to unload all the Eheim inventory.

It's rated 450gph at the pump and has a media capacity of 3 gallons, not including the internal coarse pre-filter.

1 + 1/2 of its trays hold the same amount as all 4 of the 406/407 trays for capacity.

Wow. What a deal. I ordered one right away. Had planned to go with a 2217 but this will be my "secondary" to the FX6 that I just bought at PetSmart for $250. Both will go on my new 125G. Thank you.

@Patric and @kdsm0527

That Eheim 1200xl for $123 can be had with an additional 10% or 20% off. Makes it either $110.70 or $98.4.

10% off purchases over $100 with code "10OFF100" or 20% off for purchases over $179 with code "20OFF179".

Codes good through June 6th.

@Patric , if you call their customer service they may be able to apply the coupon code to your order, since you mentioned you already placed the order.
