    Hello,

I'm in the process of converting my 46 gallon tank into a Salosi Cichlid Tank and I currently have a fluval 406. I'm planning on slightly overstocking and have between 12-14 fish. Will the fluval 406 be able to handle that or should I upgrade to the fluval FX4

The 406 should handle it but just make sure you add the fish slowly over weeks so the biofilter can catch up.

I'd say the 406 is the better option for that tank size. The FX4 (I have) has a much stronger output flow than the 406.
