AngelTheGypsy I know you have a lot of snails! What would you recommend for this tank?

Nerites eat almost anything, for sure a good beginning

Second the nerites.

Went LFS hopping to see if they had any nerites in stock (couldn't go to my usual Pacific Aquarium and Plant b/c it was too far from my apartment) and surprise, surprise they either had none or they were all flipped on their side, dead
I might go to PAP next weekend on the way back from my swim meet, but I'm thinking of ordering from Trins...
Tank is also covered in lovely filamentous diatoms/bits of hair algae. Wondering when that was going to happen, and currently trying to put a restraining order on myself so I can't go ahead and start madly scrubbing driftwood lol.

How long are you lights on for?

It goes like this : 8AM- 12PM on, 12PM - 7PM off, 7PM - 10PM on, 10PM - 8AM off. So about 7 hours of on time.

As long as I don't stare at the tank about 5 inches away from it, it looks fine. Just look at it from my bed (2 feet away or so) and I don't know that the algae is there.
Yup.
Just going to back away now.

I finally decided to get my ugly carpet out of the room and build my stand (or at least, get someone to build my stand )!
I like it much better than the old table it was on :
Also pardon the disorganized scape. I had to get in the fish before 12:00 AM and kind of just threw things in so it looks like chaos lol.
Cloudy water is because I filled it up less than 12 hours ago and also forgot to gently pour the water in... whoops!

Where have I been?
I haven't been on FishLore for almost 3 weeks, that's what.
Basically, my life isn't in the best shape right now. I've got a heck ton of personal problems going around, and I've been stressed to the point of harming everything - including myself - around me. So after the advice of some members, counselors, and family members, I've decided to take a really, really long break from this whole hobby and everything related to it. I'm not too sure if I'll be rehoming Galaxy in the future - it's a possibility, but for now, I'm going to keep her. Hopefully I won't have to
So, everyone will see me once in a while, lurking around, but I won't be doing anything. I don't really know how long I'll take a break from this - it might be permanent, it might not.
But for the meantime, I'll leave everyone a picture of my most recent - and very final - re-scape of this 10 gallon.
