There's a YouTuber know as the king of diy named Joey, he owns a flowerhorn named Frank. Apparently Frank is ugly, but why? What makes Frank ugly specifically? Here's a link to a picture of Frank on Joey's Instagram,

I think its because of his colouration and possibly other things

I mean compared to his new flowerhorn I can see where Frank could be of a lesser quality. He looks kinda dull compared to the new one, but the new one doesn't look like he will be NEAR as interactive as Frank lol and I'd rather have a personable fish than a pretty one.

He isn’t necessarily ugly. Its just that fish like flowerhorns are bred to have desirable traits and Frank is just lower quality in that respect. Similar to how Petsmart fancy goldfish are much lower quality than LFS fancies typically

Frank does not have the desired traits, examples could be like coloration, trailing fins, the flowers, size of kok(Ik ****) and genetics like the parents of the fish mean that the fish has higher potential. Flower horns are ranked by letter or class. Frank is most likely a class b but his new flowerhorn looks like an A. But Joey is one of my favorite you tubers and frank is still my favorite flowerhorn!
